The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Thomas closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Thomas is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Butterbean is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Thomas wants to lay and pray for a moment but Butterbean keeps working.

Thomas tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Thomas has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Butterbean really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Thomas. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Thomas has an Americana. Butterbean didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Thomas is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Thomas hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
