Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Fahad Al Qarni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Masahiko Kimura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fahad Al Qarni!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Masahiko Kimura!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Yves DeLean and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Al Qarni throws a right hand that Kimura ducks under and follows up with a left that Kimura also avoids with ease.
Kimura shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Sloppy strikes from Al Qarni. Those never looked like landing.
Al Qarni misses with an uppercut. Kimura saw that one coming.
Kimura goes for a double leg but Al Qarni avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Al Qarni continues to drive forward.
Al Qarni pushes Kimura back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Kimura drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Fahad Al Qarni has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Masahiko Kimura.
Al Qarni lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Al Qarni lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Al Qarni breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Al Qarni uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Kimura has time to react.
Al Qarni misses with the combination.
Al Qarni throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Al Qarni is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kimura.
Fahad Al Qarni seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kimura takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.


It looks like Masahiko Kimura has been cut.

We've been hearing reports that Al Qarni has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Al Qarni pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Kimura takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Kimura tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Al Qarni defends well and Kimura ends up having to push Al Qarni into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Al Qarni lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Kimura tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Al Qarni just stands there and leans against the cage.
Kimura's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Al Qarni scores with a shoulder strike.


Kimura is rocked!

Al Qarni breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Al Qarni rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kimura moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Al Qarni drops Kimura with a nice combination! Al Qarni dives into Kimura's guard, looking to finish!
Kimura is still in real trouble! Can Al Qarni finish him?
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kimura is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Al Qarni trying to control the position from guard on top but Kimura is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kimura seems to have recovered his senses.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Kimura is trying to control the position but Al Qarni postures up.

Al Qarni drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Al Qarni jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Al Qarni tries to free his leg and advance position but Kimura is retaining full guard.
Kimura looking to hit a scissor sweep but Al Qarni is one step ahead there.

Kimura wants to sweep here but Al Qarni controlling him for the moment.
Kimura manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Kimura is trying to take his opponent's back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Al Qarni keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Kimura trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Kimura avoids the attempt from Al Qarni to control.
Kimura wants to control the pace but Al Qarni is squirming around nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Al Qarni is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Al Qarni gets back to half guard.
Kimura moves into full mount! Al Qarni won't be happy about that!
We've been informed that Kimura has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Kimura should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Al Qarni wants to hold on but Kimura pushes him away.
Al Qarni is squirming around, avoiding Kimura's attempts to control the action.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Al Qarni tries to reverse the position but Kimura maintains control.
Al Qarni manages to regain half guard. Good work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Kimura looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Al Qarni looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Kimura is pressing down on Al Qarni's thigh, looking to free his foot. Al Qarni is holding on for now.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fahad Al Qarni dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Masahiko Kimura's cut.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Donk. Al Qarni catches Kimura right on the button with a cross.
Al Qarni jabs Kimura right on the nose. Kimura blinks but takes it well.
Al Qarni rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kimura moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Kimura moves in looking to clinch but Al Qarni pushes him off.

That has opened up Masahiko Kimura's cut even more.
Al Qarni is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Kimura slips a jab and a cross from Al Qarni.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Al Qarni cracks Kimura with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Kimura falls to his knees and Al Qarni doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Fahad Al Qarni!
