Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tony Jaa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean Avery (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Tony Jaa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sean Avery!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Jeff Smith and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jaa shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Avery eats them both and turns towards Jaa to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Avery is looking to land body kicks.
Avery thuds his shin into the meat of Jaa's side.

Jaa moves into the clinch successfully.
Jaa wants a takedown but no success here.
Avery looking for a takedown.
Avery has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Jaa is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Jaa definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Avery is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Jaa gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Tony Jaa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sean Avery.
Avery drops down looking for an ankle pick but Jaa pulls his leg out and moves away.

so Avery counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Jaa is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Avery throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jaa works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Avery won't allow Jaa to sweep him here.
Avery lands a couple of digs.

Avery lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Avery slips a nice elbow through Jaa's hands, connecting with Jaa's forehead.

Jaa knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Avery on the ground.
Avery seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jaa does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Jaa tries to get to full guard but Avery has control of the leg.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Avery lands a nice short elbow.
Jaa trying to hold on to Avery's head to control him but Avery postures up.
Avery thows a huge punch but Jaa dodges it nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Avery lands with a punch from half guard.
Avery working Jaa over with strikes.
Jaa on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jaa tries to get out of the position.
Avery working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Jaa is positioning himself well to prevent Avery advancing to mount.
Avery working over Jaa with some ground and pound. Jaa looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Still in half guard, Avery seems content to control.
Avery prevents Jaa from improving his position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Oh Jaa is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Avery lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Jaa! More strikes land and this one is all over! Avery jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sean Avery!
After winning the bout, Sean Avery thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
