Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hugh Jass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chance Spong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Chance Spong!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jass throws a hook but Spong blocks it.
Nice body punch from Spong.
Jass drops his hands momentarily and Spong takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
We've been told by Jass's head coaches at Steel Penn/Heavy Hands Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Jass throws a solid leg kick but Spong takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Jass.
Spong checks a low kick from Jass.
Jass takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Jass swings for the body but Spong moves out of range.
Spong fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Jass on the side of the head.

It looks like Hugh Jass has been cut.

Spong throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Jass tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Spong is in Jass's guard.
Spong postures up.
Spong works over Jass with some ground and pound from guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jass has momentary wrist control but Spong slips an elbow through the middle.

Jass has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Spong can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Jass looking for subs off his back but Spong has passed one foot through into half guard.

My spies in Wake and Bake inform me that Spong has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Spong works his foot free and advances to mount.
Spong trying to control but Jass is having none of it.
Jass sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Spong seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Spong is working for a kimura but Jass is defending it quite comfortably.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Spong connects with a nice short shot to Jass's temple.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jass wants to get back to full guard.

Spong winds up and cracks Jass with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Spong works his foot free and advances to mount.

Jass wants to hold on but Spong pushes him away.

Jass wants to control but Spong is having none of it.
Spong looking to finish Jass with some ground and pound. This is bad for Jass!

It looks like Spong might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Spong blocks a low kick nicely.
A looping hook to the body misses from Jass. Spong does a little dance to reset his feet.

Jass creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Spong throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Chance Spong seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

Spong wants the takedown. Jass is fighting it off but Spong persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Jass's guard against the cage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Spong is pushing down on Jass's leg trying to pass to half guard. Jass is fighting to maintain full guard but Spong has managed to sneak the leg through.
Spong uses his free foot to push down on Jass's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Jass.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Oooooh, big shot lands for Spong! Jass is hurt baaadly! Spong is firing away with more strikes - Jass is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
