Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Louis Guy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juan Santes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Louis Guy has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Louis Guy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Juan Santes!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Matti Vanhoillinen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Guy looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Santes shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Guy's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Guy bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Santes's guard.

Santes pulls Guy in to control the position.

Santes uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Santes clinches with his opponent.
Guy tries to pull guard but Santes forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Guy fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Santes turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Guy is looking for a sweep.

Santes is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Guy is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Guy tries to buck Santes off but Santes is having none of it.
Guy wants to control but Santes postures up.
Santes taking a break here but Guy is having none of it and regains half guard.

Santes seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Guy does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Juan Santes wasn't active enough on the ground.
Santes tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Santes fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Guy sprawls well initially but Santes persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Guy is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Guy keeping hold of Santes's head, controlling as best he can.
Santes is thwarting Guy's attempts to control the position.
Guy is looking to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Guy has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Santes is working away from the top position though.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Guy is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Guy is trying to maintain the position but Santes is very close to passing his half guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Louis Guy wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Guy shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Santes defends it nicely.

Guy gets tackled into the cage by Santes. Santes maintains the clinch.

enabling Guy to counter with a crisp jab.

Guy tries to keep at a distance but Santes has taken the fight into the clinch.

Santes with a flurry of punches that miss.
Santes wants to control from the top but Guy keeps moving.
Guy throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Guy pulls Santes in close to his closed guard and prevents Santes from doing any damage or advancing position.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Guy's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Juan Santes was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Santes closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Guy to the mat! Guy manages to get full guard.
Guy pulls Santes in to control the position.
Santes controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Guy has Santes pulled in close to control his posture.

Santes is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Santes is breathing heavily.

Juan Santes has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Santes throws a leg kick that misses.

Guy regains half guard.
Guy preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Santes is keen to just control but Guy is a slippery customer.

Guy is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Santes defends well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Juan Santes showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Santes has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Guy clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Guy manages to reverse the position and now he's in Santes's guard. Nice work there by Guy.

Guy stands up from Santes's guard - Guy perhaps looking for a knockout.

Guy rushes Santes and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Guy is trying to pull guard but Santes turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Guy tries to pull guard but Santes holds him up against the cage and eventually Guy drops back down to his feet.

Santes escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Juan Santes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Santes drives through and clinches with Guy against the cage.
Guy is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Santes to keep the fight standing.

Guy wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Santes, who protects the arm well.
Santes is looking to reverse the position.

Santes takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Guy lands a few punches from side control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Guy lands an elbow.
Guy is putting a hurting on Santes here, landing some big shots from side control.
Louis Guy has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Juan Santes is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Guy lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Santes down.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Louis Guy.
Well Santes has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
