Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jake Mackenzie!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Daniel Cesar and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hanga dives in for a single leg takedown but Mackenzie sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Mackenzie breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hanga shoots in for a takedown but Mackenzie shows good takedown defense.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hanga.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Adam Hanga. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hanga shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Mackenzie manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Mackenzie kicks Hanga off and gets to his feet.

Mackenzie is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hanga's half guard.
Hanga wants to improve his position but Mackenzie is controlling well.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Well, if Mackenzie is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hanga scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Mackenzie manages to mount him!

Mackenzie is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Adam Hanga seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's one minute gone in the round.
No luck for Hanga with that takedown attempt.

Hanga bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Hanga is breathing heavily.
Mackenzie gets back to half guard.
Mackenzie wants to get back to his feet.
Hanga thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Mackenzie looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Mackenzie is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hanga pulls his head out easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Mackenzie has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Hanga. Oh but Mackenzie has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Hanga goes limp - he's gone! Mackenzie jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Jake Mackenzie!
After winning the bout, Jake Mackenzie thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
