20 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brenden Abbott!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guy lands with a nice body punch.
Guy throws a body shot but no joy.
Guy looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Guy throws a hook to the side of Abbott's head but Abbott sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
The Guy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Abbott scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Guy scores with a crisp jab that stopped Abbott in his tracks.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Abbott has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
A clash of legs there as Abbott blocks the low kick.

Some bone on bone action there as Abbott checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Abbott throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Guy tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Abbott is in Guy's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Guy can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Abbott controls the pace.
Abbott is looking to advance position but Guy has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Guy is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Abbott is defending well for now.

That was a close round but I would say that The Guy will probably get the nod.
