Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Joe Hopkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jimmy Jones!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Colin Fotheringham and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hopkins blocks a head kick by Jones.
Jones throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Jimmy Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jones tries a head kick but it misses.
Jones tries to clinch up.

Hopkins decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jones can do anything to dispel that myth.
Jones is trying to stand.
Hopkins is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Jones!
Jones tries to buck Hopkins off but he can't manage it.
Jones is bucking up trying to escape but Hopkins cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Hopkins is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Jones has managed to escape the submission attempt.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hopkins can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jones is looking to escape.
Hopkins tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hopkins lands a big elbow.
Jones really wants to buck Hopkins off and get back to his feet.

Hopkins is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Jones is surviving well by controlling Hopkins's body position as best he can.
You get the feeling that Jones really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Hopkins has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Jones is trying to stand but he's just given Hopkins his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Hopkins is persistently looking for the submission but Jones is defending it well.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Jones is trying to defend against the choke here but Hopkins has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Hopkins Tightens the hold and Jones taps out furiously! Hopkins displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
