And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joe Penn Reyes!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Daniel Blasius and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mills keeps the fight on the outside.

Mills clinches up with Reyes and pushes him back against the cage.
Reyes blocks an elbow strike.
Mills struggles to land a body shot inside as Reyes controls his hands.
Reyes keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Mills's efforts to push away.
Mills throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Mills swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Mills throws a punch but it's blocked by Reyes.
Mills throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Reyes takes a shot to the head.
Reyes can't break the clinch.
Mills lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Reyes blocks an elbow strike from Mills.
Mills misses with a hook to the ribs.
With the fighters up against the cage, Mills throws an elbow but misses.
Reyes tries to score a body lock takedown but Mills shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Reyes.

Reyes breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bryan Mills seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Reyes tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Mills throws a leg kick
and Mills takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Mills throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mills finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Nice takedown defense from Mills. No joy for Reyes on that attempt.
Mills does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Mills circles away from the clinch attempt.
Reyes wants to clinch up but Mills keeps it at a distance.
Mills throws a body kick that misses
and Reyes counters with a head kick. That will keep Mills thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Reyes looks winded!

Mills clinches.
Mills misses with some punches.
Mills pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Reyes tries to pull guard but Mills holds him up against the cage and eventually Reyes drops back down to his feet.
Bryan Mills has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Penn Reyes.
Reyes blocks an uppercut.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mills misses with an elbow over the top.
Mills misses with a body punch.
Reyes fails to pull guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mills tries to circle away but Reyes has him pinned against the cage.
Nice elbow from Mills.
Mills misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Reyes blocks a body shot from Mills.
Mills misses with a punch on the inside.
Reyes prevents a body shot from Mills.

Reyes breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A bone on bone clash there as Reyes blocks the leg kick.
A lazy body kick from Mills
letting Reyes counter with a right hand.
Mills misses with a kick to the body.
Mills tries to score with a low kick but Reyes moves his leg out of the way.
Mills tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
An inside leg kick lands from Mills.

Reyes moves out of range as Mills throws a body kick.

Mills throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Reyes tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Mills is in Reyes's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Reyes utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Mills looking to sit in guard and control but Reyes gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
We've been hearing good reports from Mills's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Mills looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Reyes is defending well. Mills quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Reyes has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Mills celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Bryan Mills!
A relieved looking Bryan Mills thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
