Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
State Jr. shoots in for a takedown but al Hadj shows good takedown defense.
State Jr. misses with a takedown attempt - al Hadj sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

I was talking to State Jr.'s coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, al Hadj just misses with a elbow thrown towards State Jr.'s brow.
State Jr. has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

State Jr. has picked al Hadj up - he's going for a ride! State Jr. dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as al Hadj holds on and takes a little breather.
State Jr. stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. al Hadj swivels though and keeps the full guard.
al Hadj manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. State Jr. manages to get himself to full guard.

al Hadj is posturing up here but State Jr. has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! al Hadj tries to roll out but it's too tight and al Hadj has to tap! Slick submission there by State Jr.!
