Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Snake Shadow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maciej Zegan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shadow comes to the cage accompanied by Snake in the Eagles Shadow. Zegan has chosen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4B99CQV3uY&feature=related as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Snake Shadow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Maciej Zegan!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Alan Glass and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shadow lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Zegan uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Shadow.
Zegan tries to grapple but his opponent circles
letting Shadow counter with a right hand.
Zegan tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Shadow manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Zegan misses with a wild body shot.
Shadow tries to bum rush Zegan with a series of wild strikes but Zegan uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Shadow shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Shadow showed some decent athleticism there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Zegan is rocked!
Zegan makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Zegan.
Zegan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shadow. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Shadow is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Zegan tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Zegan has momentary wrist control but Shadow slips an elbow through the middle.
Shadow with a flurry of punches that miss.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Zegan can do anything to dispel that myth.

Shadow lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Zegan down.
Shadow is looking to take a break and control but Zegan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Zegan is still in real trouble! Can Shadow finish him?
Shadow is putting a hurting on Zegan here, landing some big shots from side control.

Shadow is trying to get an arm triangle but Zegan is defending well.
Shadow connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Zegan some visible discomfort.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Zegan wants to get back to his feet but Shadow drags him back down.
Zegan seems to have recovered his senses.

Shadow is pressing down on Zegan's thigh, looking to free his foot. Zegan is holding on for now.
Shadow content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Shadow wants to lay and pray for a moment but Zegan keeps working.
Shadow trying to mount his opponent but Zegan defends it.
Zegan wants to get back to full guard but Shadow has passed into side control.
Shadow has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Zegan takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Zegan takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Zegan is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Shadow is controlling him well.
Shadow is staying tight to Zegan's torso, preventing him from escaping.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zegan is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Shadow lands a really nice looking cross but Zegan seems unphased.
Jab, jab by Shadow - just one landing.
Shadow connects with a looping right hand.

and Zegan counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Zegan tries to close the distance and clinch up but Shadow swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Zegan throws a head kick that misses.
Shadow shoots in and drives through. Zegan sprawls well.
Zegan closes the distance looking to clinch
and Shadow counters with a stiff right hand.
Zegan tries to clinch but Shadow moves out of range.
Shadow shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Zegan sprawls well. Zegan wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Shadow gets slowly back to his feet.
Maciej Zegan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Shadow throws a body punch but Zegan moves out of range.
Zegan on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Shadow misses with a low kick.
Shadow has been working on his balance at Boomerang!!, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Zegan.

Snake Shadow is winning the standup battle so far.
Shadow digs a good hook to Zegan's body.
Zegan throws a big shot that misses.
Shadow swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Shadow throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Zegan's waist but Zegan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Shadow off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Snake Shadow. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Good shot there by Zegan.
Zegan feints and then cracks Shadow's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Shadow down.
Shadow lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Zegan rushes Shadow and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Zegan's coach down at Bi-polar Asylum was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Zegan's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Zegan can't find room to land a body shot as Shadow controls the action.

Zegan managing to block the knees to the body from Shadow.

Zegan breaks the clinch.
Zegan wants to clinch.
Shadow swats away the attempt to clinch by Zegan.
Shadow lands with a straight right. Zegan didn't see that one coming.

A jab-cross combination lands for Shadow and sends Zegan crashing to the mat! Shadow follows him down to the mat - Zegan regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
Shadow is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Shadow moves into full mount! Zegan won't be happy about that!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shadow cracks Zegan with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Snake Shadow!
