Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, BJ Penncil!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Devlin has managed to clinch.

Penncil takes a shot to the head.
Devlin pushes Penncil back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Devlin is working Penncil over against the cage.

Penncil has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Devlin is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Penncil drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Penncil has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Devlin avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Dion Devlin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of BJ Penncil.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Penncil has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

I was talking to Devlin's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Penncil takes an elbow to the forehead.
Devlin has the Thai clinch. He lands a big knee to the head that stumbles Penncil - he's in trouble! Another big knee to the head from Devlin, and another! Penncil is out on his feet - the ref jumps in to save him and ends the fight!

Dion Devlin was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
