Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dr Awesome Phd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Noob Saibot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saibot moves out of range of the body kick.

Awesome Phd clinches up with Saibot and pushes him back against the cage.

Saibot misses with a hook to the ribs.
Still in the clinch, Awesome Phd scores with a nice short uppercut.
Saibot throws a punch but it's blocked by Awesome Phd.

Awesome Phd is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Saibot is looking to break free of the clinch but Awesome Phd has double underhooks.

Saibot's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Saibot breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Awesome Phd drops Saibot with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Saibot looks back up at him and smiles so Awesome Phd waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
