Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Okkuke Jiizu Okunaba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenji Nakamura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kenji Nakamura will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shirou Masuda and Ren Mimura.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nakamura takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Nakamura looks for the body kick but Okunaba saw that one coming.
Nakamura throws a nice inside leg kick.
A clash of legs there as Okunaba blocks the low kick.
Kenji Nakamura seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nakamura avoids the body shot from Okunaba.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Okunaba.

and Okunaba counters with a shoot takedown. Nakamura fights it but they end up in guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Nakamura is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Okunaba is controlling him.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Okunaba tries to close the distance and clinch up but Nakamura swats him away and circles back towards the center.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nakamura is trying to stand up here but Okunaba is controlling him well.
Nakamura really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Okunaba. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Okkuke Jiizu Okunaba has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Nakamura throws a low kick but it's checked well by Okunaba.

That was a close round but I would say that Okkuke Jiizu Okunaba will probably get the nod.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It looks like Kenji Nakamura has been cut.
Nakamura is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Okunaba lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Nakamura hang on?
Okunaba sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Okunaba takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Okunaba has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
