PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark McCain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Doe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McCain comes to the cage accompanied by Hate by Jay-Z. The crowd seem to be enjoying Doe's choice of entrance music: Rick Ross - John Doe. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Mark McCain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, John Doe!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Phil Schofield and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCain misses with an uppercut.
Doe circles away from the clinch attempt.

McCain looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
McCain lands a couple of elbows.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McCain wants to control from the top but Doe keeps moving.
McCain has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
McCain trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
McCain throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Doe works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
McCain working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

McCain has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McCain works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Doe has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. McCain is working away from the top position though.
McCain seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

McCain is working for a kimura but Doe is defending it quite comfortably.

Doe has hold of McCain's hands but McCain slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
McCain lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
McCain wants to take a breather but Doe is having none of it.
McCain is pressing down on Doe's thigh, looking to free his foot. Doe is holding on for now.

McCain is working for an americana but Doe has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst McCain was thinking about the submission.

Doe is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Doe is looking to control McCain's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Doe avoid being mounted?

McCain is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Doe defends it well.
McCain is trying to control the action in half guard but Doe is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Doe is looking to control McCain's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Doe avoid being mounted?

Mark McCain is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
McCain misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Doe tries to clinch up.

McCain rushes Doe and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
With the fighters up against the cage, Doe throws an elbow but misses.
Doe lands a right hand that snaps the head of McCain backwards.
Doe lands an elbow just above McCain 's eye.


It looks like Mark McCain has been cut.

McCain wants to take the fight to the mat but Doe manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Doe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McCain. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as McCain accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Doe seems keen to control McCain's posture.

McCain drops back, looking for a kneebar! Doe looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Doe looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Doe!

Doe cracks McCain with a big right hand but McCain just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Doe tries to close the distance and clinch but McCain swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Doe lands a jab to the nose.

Doe uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by McCain.
Doe moves into range and connects with a jab.
Doe tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but McCain paws at him with a jab and circles away.
McCain throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Doe's waist but Doe gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing McCain off to one side.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Doe is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
McCain moves in looking to clinch but Doe pushes him off.
John Doe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McCain misses with a body shot.
McCain throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Doe sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Doe tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but McCain paws at him with a jab and circles away.

McCain closes the distance and clinches up with Doe, looking for a takedown. McCain pushes Doe against the cage but Doe circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Doe clinches.
Doe lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Doe lands a nice uppercut.
McCain goes for a takedown in the clinch but Doe prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark McCain. That's going to take a lot out of him.

McCain is rocked!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Doe drops McCain onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! McCain is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
Oh McCain is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Doe has McCain pressed against the cage. He pushes McCain back and as he springs towards him off the cage, Doe throws a beautiful elbow that sends McCain crashing to the floor! Doe piles on the pressure with more strikes! McCain is flailing away but he's not defending himself and the referee steps in to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Doe!
During a confident post fight interview, John Doe thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
