Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Karl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Geghard Karekin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Jimmy Karl!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Geghard Karekin!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Andrew Berry and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karl moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Karl scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Karekin ducks right into an uppercut from Karl.
Karekin has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Karl.
We've been hearing reports that Karl has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Karl throws a one two combo.

Karl changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Karekin looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Karl goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Karekin rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Karl's guard! Nice work there by Karekin!
Karl is looking to sweep but instead, Karekin has passed into half guard.

Karekin wants to pass to mount but Karl is defending the position.
Karekin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Karl keeps working.
Karekin is thwarting Karl's attempts to control the position.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Karekin lands a nice short elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Karekin wants to get back to his feet but Karl is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jimmy Karl just wasn't active enough.

Karl gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Karl lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Karekin backwards.

Karekin has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Karl clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Karekin controlling the position well here. Karl rolled but Karekin kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Jimmy Karl will probably get the nod.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Karekin tries to free his leg and advance position but Karl is retaining full guard.

Karl is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Karekin looking to sit in guard and control but Karl gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Geghard Karekin.
Karl uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Jimmy Karl is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Karl lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Karekin circles away quickly and effectively.
Karl lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Jimmy Karl seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Karl closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Karl tries to break free but Karekin pushes him back against the cage.

Karl creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Karekin's defenses.
Karl is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Karekin tries to score a body lock takedown but Karl shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Jimmy Karl has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Geghard Karekin.

Karl shoots for a double leg takedown but Karekin sprawls well. He's pushed Karl's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Karl looks to land a body kick but Karekin moved away.

Karl paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Karl throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

A looping hook to the body misses from Karl. Karekin does a little dance to reset his feet.
Karl throws a right and a left that Karekin avoids nicely.
Jimmy Karl is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Jimmy Karl showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Karl, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
