Skilgannon kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is La Ultima Hora - Breed 77. And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, James Rush!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, James Glass and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab, jab by Rush - just one landing.
Rush goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Rush lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Olek Skilgannon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Skilgannon throws the left hand but Rush avoids the punch easily.
Skilgannon avoids the body shot from Rush.
Skilgannon looks to land a body kick but Rush moved away.
Rush misses with a straight left.
Skilgannon misses with a lunging right hand
and Rush counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Skilgannon ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rush moves away.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rush lands a slapping body shot.
Rush fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Skilgannon on the side of the head.
Skilgannon tries to score with a low kick but Rush moves his leg out of the way.
Rush throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Skilgannon stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Rush bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Skilgannon misses with a hook.
Skilgannon tries a head kick but it misses.
Rush misses with a series of wild punches.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Skilgannon throws a poor cross that misses
and Skilgannon takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Rush keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Skilgannon.
Skilgannon misses with a hook.
Nice sprawl there from Rush as Skilgannon shoots in.
Skilgannon tries to move into range but Rush moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Skilgannon misses with an uppercut.
Skilgannon throws a right hand that Rush ducks under and follows up with a left that Rush also avoids with ease.
Rush lands a right hook to the body.
Skilgannon jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Skilgannon throws a wild body kick that Rush sees coming a mile off.
Skilgannon shoots for a takedown but Rush saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Skilgannon lands a nice shot that snaps Rush's head back.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rush moves out of range as Skilgannon strikes.
Skilgannon misses the shot to the body.
Left hook, right uppercut from Rush.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Skilgannon closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Skilgannon shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Rush counters with a nice uppercut.


Skilgannon is rocked!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Olek Skilgannon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rush moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Skilgannon doesn't manage to clinch there - Rush circles away.
A solid leg kick lands there for Skilgannon.
Skilgannon misses with a right hand
and Rush counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Rush bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
James Rush is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Skilgannon misses with a lunging right hand
and Rush connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Skilgannon throws a leg kick but Rush moved away.
Skilgannon misses with an uppercut.
Rush misses with a looping right.
Skilgannon misses with a looping left.
Skilgannon takes a shot right to the bread basket.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Skilgannon walks into a jab.
Skilgannon tries to clinch but Rush is having none of it.
Skilgannon pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rush fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Skilgannon looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Skilgannon is breathing heavily.

Rush drops Skilgannon with a nice combination! Rush dives into Skilgannon's guard, looking to finish!
Oh Skilgannon is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Rush gets to his feet and stands over Skilgannon, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Skilgannon felt that one! Rush unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Skilgannon from any more punishment!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James Rush!
James Rush took to the microphone after his victory and thanked his sponsors, VICIOUS FIGHT GEAR for their support in the buildup to the fight.
