The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bennet defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Thesz.
A jab lands there for Thesz.

Thesz throws a right and a left that both miss.
Thesz lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bennet circles away quickly and effectively.

Bennet uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
It looks like Aloysius Martin Thesz has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bennet thuds his right hand into Thesz's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Thesz fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Thesz has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Thesz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bennet tries to avoid it but Thesz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bennet to the ground. Bennet escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Scotty Bennet has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aloysius Martin Thesz.
Bennet explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
