Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mikey Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keiji Numa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Numa has chosen You're Going Down as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mikey Kim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 32 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Keiji Numa!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Ron Honeybunn and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Numa takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Numa throws a sloppy head kick and Kim moves out of range easily.
Numa rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Kim counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Numa is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Kim moves in looking to clinch but Numa pushes him off.

Kim clinches up with Numa and pushes him back against the cage.
Numa tries to pull guard but Kim won't allow it.
A short body shot lands from Kim as the two fighters clinch.
Kim tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Numa is looking to break free of the clinch but Kim has double underhooks.
Numa prevents a body shot from Kim.
Numa jumps guard but Kim stands there with Numa around his waist. Numa gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
A right hook to the body lands for Kim.
Numa takes an elbow to the temple.
Kim lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

It looks like Keiji Numa has been cut.
Numa fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Mikey Kim has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Keiji Numa.
Numa avoids a wild elbow strike from Kim.

Numa pulls guard successfully.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Kim working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Numa is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kim is aware though and is defending well.

Kim decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Numa, up you get!
Numa scores with a leg kick.
Numa does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Kim misses with a lunging right hand
and Numa counters with a slapping leg kick.

Kim instigates a clinch.
Kim with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Numa is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Kim pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Numa tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kim smiles and moves away.
Numa ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Kim tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Numa counters with a series of strikes. Kim will be more careful next time no doubt.
Kim displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Numa.
Kim throws out a leg kick but Numa moves out of range and Kim only half commits.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Kim.
Kim moves out of range as Numa throws a body kick.
Kim tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Numa manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Kim lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Numa keeps the fight on the outside.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Numa checks a leg kick.
Kim misses with a body kick.
Numa lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kim circles away quickly and effectively.
Numa tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Kim tries a head kick but it misses.

Kim forces Numa back against the cage and clinches.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Numa fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Numa tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Kim comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Numa jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kim walks away with a smile on his face. Numa gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kim. Numa does a little dance to reset his feet.
Kim throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Mikey Kim is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Numa fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Kim on the side of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Numa avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Numa misses with a leg kick
and Kim counters with a thumping low kick.
Numa looks to land a combination but Kim avoids it well.
Numa misses with a wild combination.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Kim keeps Numa at a distance using the push kick.
Numa takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mikey Kim dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Keiji Numa's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Kim pushes Numa up against the cage in a clinch.
Kim struggles to land a body shot inside as Numa controls his hands.
Numa tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kim smiles and moves away.
Kim doesn't manage to clinch there - Numa circles away.
Kim cracks Numa with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Kim misses with an uppercut.
Kim showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Numa.
Numa swats away the attempt to clinch by Kim.
Kim misses with a right hand
and Numa counters with a one-two to the body.
Mikey Kim seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kim lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.


Numa is rocked!
Kim is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Numa fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Numa is still on wobbly legs! Can Kim finish him?

Kim clinches.
Kim lands a nice knee to the body.
Numa is pressed against the cage. Kim pushes back and unleashes a big elbow that really hurts Numa! Two more big strikes from Kim and Numa crumples to the mat and taps out furiously due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:13 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Mikey Kim!
In his post fight interview, Mikey Kim started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
