Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 4 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 19 - 2, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sho Shinjo!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Don Winkell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Puppy lands a jab to the head.
Puppy throws a right hand that misses
and Shinjo counters with a head kick.
Shinjo throws a wild body kick that Puppy sees coming a mile off.
Shinjo gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
An inside leg kick lands from Shinjo.
Puppy darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Puppy throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Shinjo counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Puppy is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Puppy throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Shinjo scores with a head kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Shinjo uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Puppy.

We've been hearing reports that Puppy has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Puppy gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Shinjo to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Puppy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shinjo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shinjo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Puppy can't keep his opponent in guard - Shinjo advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Puppy is trying to maintain the position but Shinjo is very close to passing his half guard.

Shinjo lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Puppy is looking for a sweep. Shinjo is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Puppy is trying to stand up here but Shinjo is controlling him well.

Shinjo is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Puppy sees it coming and defends easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Shinjo is keen to just control but Puppy is a slippery customer.
Puppy is looking for a sweep. Shinjo is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Shinjo has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Puppy defend it? Shinjo steps over the head and cranks it - Puppy is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Shinjo!
