PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dmitry Saadiev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Medium Hardon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dmitry Saadiev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Medium Hardon!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saadiev swings for the body but Hardon moves out of range.
Hardon shoots for a takedown but Saadiev saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Hardon closes this distance looking for a takedown but Saadiev circles away.

Hardon is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Saadiev's half guard.

Hardon wants to work for an arm triangle but Saadiev is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hardon seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Saadiev does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Hardon stalling away here and it's allowed Saadiev to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Hardon closes the distance and clinches up with Saadiev, looking for a takedown. Hardon pushes Saadiev against the cage but Saadiev circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Saadiev throws a looping overhand right but Hardon ducks down to avoid it.
Saadiev uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Hardon has time to react.
Saadiev moves out of range as Hardon strikes.
Saadiev throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hardon needs to keep his hands up - Saadiev had a free shot at his head there.
Saadiev lands a lovely overhand right.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Hardon takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Saadiev wants to control but Hardon postures up.
Hardon throws a strike aimed at the side of Saadiev's head but Saadiev avoids it well.

Medium Hardon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Hardon looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Saadiev with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Saadiev has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hardon is working away from the top position though.

Hardon working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hardon connects with a nice short shot to Saadiev's temple.

Medium Hardon comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Hardon has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
