PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Byakuya Toshiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lewis Warren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Toshiro comes to the cage accompanied by The Eyes of the Tiger. On his way into the cage it seems that Byakuya Toshiro has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Byakuya Toshiro seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Byakuya Toshiro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lewis Warren!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Matheus Silva and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Warren as Toshiro shoots in.
Toshiro throws a head kick but Warren moves out of range.
Toshiro misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
No luck for Toshiro with that takedown attempt.
Good work by Toshiro as he checks the leg kick.
Warren misses with a head kick.
Toshiro throws a sloppy head kick
and Warren counters with a body kick that stops Toshiro in his tracks momentarily.

Warren shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Toshiro is breathing heavily.
Toshiro is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Toshiro is trying to escape the mount.
Warren really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Toshiro. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Warren manages to capitalize on a mistake by Toshiro to take his back!

Toshiro trying to control the action but Warren just sinks the hooks in.
Warren controlling well, preventing Toshiro from escaping the position.
Warren biding his time, looking for the opening.
Toshiro trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Toshiro rolls, trying to escape but Warren keeps control of the position.
Warren is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
I looks like Warren might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Warren's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

I really don't envy Toshiro right now.
Good control from Warren.
Despite being in a bad position, Toshiro is controlling the hands, preventing any submission attempts.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Toshiro is in bad spot here.
Warren is not going to allow Toshiro to sit and survive in this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Warren is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

and Warren counters with a flying knee that sends his opponent to the canvas! Warren looking to finish!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Toshiro is trying to control the position but Warren postures up.
Oh Toshiro is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Toshiro is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Toshiro seems to have got his legs back now.
Warren has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Toshiro is proving hard to escape from.

Toshiro is working an open guard so Warren takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

and Warren counters with a leg kick.
Toshiro misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Toshiro closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Toshiro tries for a takedown but Warren circles away easily

and Warren counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Warren.

Warren stands up and waves to Toshiro to follow him.
Warren throws a sloppy head kick and Toshiro moves out of range easily.
Toshiro tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Warren counters with a nice low kick that buckles Toshiro's knee momentarily.

Toshiro misses with a series of wild punches.
Warren walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Toshiro throws a sloppy head kick
and Warren counters with a big head kick but Toshiro shrugs it off.
Byakuya Toshiro is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Warren throws a series of punches but Toshiro moves out of range.
Toshiro swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Warren counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Toshiro's guard now.

Toshiro looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Warren passes into side control.
Toshiro tries to buck Warren off but Warren is having none of it.
Toshiro is working hard here to advance position.

Toshiro is trying to control Warren's posture but Warren avoids it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Toshiro fails with the takedown

and Warren counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Byakuya Toshiro. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Toshiro tries to land a sweep but no joy.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Toshiro working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Warren doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Warren manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Lewis Warren showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Toshiro's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Warren throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Toshiro tries for a takedown but Warren circles away easily
and Warren counters with a head kick.
Toshiro moves out of range of the body kick from Warren.
Warren has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Warren lands a jab to Toshiro's midsection.
Toshiro shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Warren makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

and Warren counters with a shoot takedown. Toshiro fights it but they end up in guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Byakuya Toshiro. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Toshiro tries to contro but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Toshiro is looking to improve his position but Warren isn't that keen on the idea.

Warren tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment.
Warren is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Toshiro is desperately trying to improve his position but Warren has a good base and remains in mount.
Byakuya Toshiro has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Toshiro tries to hold on but Warren pushes him away.
Toshiro is looking to improve his position but Warren isn't that keen on the idea.

Lewis Warren comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Warren has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
