Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Bzdunek!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tadeusz Ostrowski!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Leandro Rodrigues and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bzdunek scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Ostrowski shoots for a double leg takedown but Bzdunek sprawls well. He's pushed Ostrowski's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Ostrowski dodges the punch combination from Bzdunek.
Ostrowski will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Bzdunek misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Ostrowski takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Ostrowski doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Bzdunek connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
John Bzdunek has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tadeusz Ostrowski.
Ostrowski closes the distance and clinches up with Bzdunek, looking for a takedown. Ostrowski pushes Bzdunek against the cage but Bzdunek circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Ostrowski tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Bzdunek defends well and Ostrowski ends up having to push Bzdunek into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Ostrowski wants to take the fight to the mat but Bzdunek manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Ostrowski drops down looking for an ankle pick but Bzdunek pulls his leg out and moves away.
Ostrowski fails with a takedown attempt.

Ostrowski feints and as Bzdunek raises his hands in defense, Ostrowski changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Ostrowski advances to half guard.

Ostrowski looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Bzdunek is staying active underneath Ostrowski, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Ostrowski thows a huge punch but Bzdunek dodges it nicely.
Ostrowski is trying to control. Bzdunek wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Ostrowski is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Bzdunek has managed to free his arm - good work.

Ostrowski is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Bzdunek still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Bzdunek has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Bzdunek stands up and we're back to a striking position.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bzdunek throws a series of strikes that have Ostrowski backpedaling.
Bzdunek throws a right and a left that both miss.
Bzdunek lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ostrowski circles away quickly and effectively.

Ostrowski misses with a takedown attempt - Bzdunek sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Bzdunek connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Bzdunek leaves Ostrowski with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Ostrowski.

Bzdunek lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Ostrowski has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Bzdunek connects with a left and a right that sees a clearly hurt Ostrowski covering up! Bzdunek comes in with a big uppercut and Ostrowski goes doooown! He's slumped up against the cage, eyes staring blankly into space.
