Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Mclean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fabio Oberherr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ricardo Mclean!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Fabio Oberherr!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Eliza Hachem and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oberherr will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Mclean lands with an uppercut that bounces Oberherr off the cage and back into range.
Oberherr tries to bum rush Mclean with a series of wild strikes but Mclean uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Oberherr fails with the takedown.
Oberherr shoots in looking for a takedown but Mclean manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Oberherr's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Ricardo Mclean has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fabio Oberherr.

Mclean closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mclean seems to be looking for submissions.

Mclean is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Oberherr is just riding it out for now. Mclean eventually gives up the hold.

Mclean is working for a kimura but Oberherr is defending it quite comfortably.

Mclean throws a strike but Oberherr rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Mclean gets control of Oberherr's arms and successfully pulls guard. Mclean will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Mclean is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Oberherr darts in looking for a takedown but Mclean gets double underhooks and turns Oberherr into the cage.

Mclean manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Oberherr on his heels. He'll look to pass Oberherr's guard now, I'm sure.

Oberherr wants to stand up but Mclean is controlling him.
Mclean has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Oberherr closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Mclean's guard.

Mclean is in trouble now - Oberherr has advanced to mount!
Oberherr lands a big shot there that rocks Mclean but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Oberherr won't let Mclean get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Oberherr has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Mclean is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Oberherr goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Mclean turns into him and now he's in Oberherr's guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ricardo Mclean.
Well Mclean has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
