Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gerald Minor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Ellenberger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gerald Minor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joe Ellenberger!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Franklyn Lucas and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ellenberger drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Minor trying to control the position.
Minor is trying to hold Ellenberger in close to prevent damage but Ellenberger has managed to pass into half guard.
Ellenberger looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Minor is trying to control but can't.

Minor is defending against the submission attempts here by Ellenberger.

Ellenberger is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Minor is just riding it out for now. Ellenberger eventually gives up the hold.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ellenberger is looking to stall here but Minor recovers full guard.

Minor bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ellenberger's guard.

Ellenberger has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Minor off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
We've been told by Minor's head coaches at Abobomination Training $700 13 LEGIT elite coaches that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Ellenberger feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Minor is on top in guard.

Ellenberger is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Ellenberger wants to control but Minor passes easily into half guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Minor got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ellenberger has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Minor has managed to get both his arms back between Ellenberger's legs - danger averted.

Ellenberger shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Ellenberger was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Ellenberger is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Minor knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Ellenberger is wriggling around but Minor manages to pass to half guard.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Ellenberger is pressing down on Minor's thigh, looking to free his foot. Minor is holding on for now.

Ellenberger is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Minor defends it well.

Ellenberger seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Minor does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Minor is looking for a sweep. Ellenberger is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Joe Ellenberger showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Joe Ellenberger comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Ellenberger has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
