Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Fourie Du Preez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rimhak Wonha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rimhak Wonha will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Fourie Du Preez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rimhak Wonha!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Shirou Masuda and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Du Preez lands a glancing blow to the side of Wonha's head.
Wonha tries to score with a low kick but Du Preez moves his leg out of the way.

Du Preez closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Du Preez prevents Wonha from improving his position.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Du Preez in particular looking to stall.
We've been hearing good reports from Du Preez's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Du Preez is keen to just control but Wonha is a slippery customer.

Du Preez is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Wonha knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Du Preez seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Wonha for as long as he can get away with.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Wonha is looking to improve his position but Du Preez isn't that keen on the idea.

Wonha throws a half hearted mid kick.

Fourie Du Preez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Du Preez is looking to take a break and control but Wonha is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Wonha manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Wonha tries to roll over but Du Preez keeps him under control.

Du Preez is taking a breather. Wonha says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Du Preez wants to pass to mount but Wonha is defending the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Wonha looks for the body kick but Du Preez saw that one coming.
Wonha throws a sloppy head kick

and Du Preez counters with a shoot takedown. Wonha fights it but they end up in guard.

Wonha is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Du Preez seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Du Preez manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Wonha on his heels. He'll look to pass Wonha's guard now, I'm sure.

Du Preez gets through Wonha's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Wonha drops Du Preez with a big knee straight up the middle! Du Preez is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!

It looks like Fourie Du Preez has been cut.
Wonha bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Oh Du Preez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Wonha closes the distance and pushes Du Preez back into the cage.
Du Preez tries to break free but Wonha pushes him back against the cage.
Wonha has Du Preez pressed against the cage. He pushes Du Preez back and as he springs towards him off the cage, Wonha throws a beautiful elbow that sends Du Preez crashing to the floor! Wonha piles on the pressure with more strikes! Du Preez is flailing away but he's not defending himself and the referee steps in to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rimhak Wonha!
