Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Roger Sheck!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gary Opdauhl!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Hugh Johnson and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Opdauhl connects with an inside leg kick.

Opdauhl works Sheck's body with a nice hook.

Opdauhl lands a nice leg kick that just misses Sheck's sensitive parts.
Opdauhl tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Sheck manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Opdauhl throws a lazy right hand but Sheck sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Sheck takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

and Sheck counters with a nice double leg into side control. Opdauhl won't be happy with that.

Sheck wants to lay and pray for a moment but Opdauhl keeps working.
Opdauhl felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Opdauhl screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
