Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Esa Tikkanen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jan Sobieski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tikkanen kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Bring The Pain. Sobieski comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Kto Cię Obroni Polsko kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Esa Tikkanen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Esa Tikkanen!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jan Sobieski!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Sam Margolis and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tikkanen lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

We've been hearing good reports from Tikkanen's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Sobieski crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Tikkanen - the referee stops the clock and Sobieski gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Tikkanen. Sobieski manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well Tikkanen has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
