And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Fabio Oberherr!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Ben Hemmingworth and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vinson looks to move to half guard but instead Oberherr has passed into mount! Damn!

Vinson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Oberherr is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Vinson is just riding it out for now. Oberherr eventually gives up the hold.
Oberherr is stalling here. Vinson is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Oberherr seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Vinson has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Oberherr throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Vinson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Oberherr is in Vinson's guard.

Vinson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Oberherr sprawls well initially but Vinson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Oberherr. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Vinson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Oberherr's head.
Vinson stalling away here and it's allowed Oberherr to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Vinson throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Oberherr escapes and throws Vinson's legs to the side, diving into side control!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
