Peterson 's entrance music is Blind Eye Halo. A fine choice. McGuiness is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Bare in the Basin - Gaelic Storm. Nikolai Peterson is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 10 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nikolai Peterson !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mannix McGuiness!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Alec Ball and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McGuiness closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Peterson to the mat! Peterson manages to get full guard.

McGuiness tries to close the distance and clinch but Peterson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Peterson lands with an uppercut that bounces McGuiness off the cage and back into range.
Nikolai Peterson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice defenses there by McGuiness.
McGuiness shoots in looking for a takedown. Peterson tries to sprawl out of it but McGuiness keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Peterson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
McGuiness shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Peterson as he avoids it easily.

Peterson throws a lazy right hand but McGuiness sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

A looping hook to the body misses from Peterson . McGuiness does a little dance to reset his feet.

McGuiness ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. McGuiness no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Peterson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McGuiness swivels though and keeps the full guard.

McGuiness has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Peterson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

McGuiness is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

McGuiness closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Peterson did well to prevent McGuiness getting side control.
McGuiness is trying to control the action in half guard but Peterson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
McGuiness uses his free foot to push down on Peterson 's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Peterson .

McGuiness lands a couple of good shots and Peterson has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

Peterson is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if McGuiness gets his way!
Peterson rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
McGuiness wants to free his trapped foot but Peterson is holding on for dear life with his legs.

McGuiness is looking for a kimura but Peterson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for McGuiness to get the leverage.

McGuiness goes for a cartwheel guard pass here but Peterson does a handstand and catches McGuiness in mid air with a triangle! Could it be? It is! It's the triple decker pecker wrecker! The fighters land on the ground with Peterson on top - McGuiness is already out from the submission! Peterson gives McGuiness's pecker the obligatory post submission twist and this one is aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall over! Are you kidding me! That is world class Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. That guy is my hero!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (TDPW) . Nikolai Peterson !
Nikolai Peterson spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
