Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake Hempsall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ian Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Hempsall might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Everyday-Shy FX & T Power. Smith has chosen AC/DC's You Shook Me All Night Long as his entrance music. Ian Smith has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Glass and James Atkins.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Smith slips under a jab.

Smith shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hempsall manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Smith works over Hempsall with some ground and pound from guard.
Hempsall looking for a sweep. Not yet Hempsall, not yet.

Hempsall has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Smith has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Smith lands a body shot.

Hempsall pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Smith looks to land a right hand but Hempsall moved out of range.
Smith ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hempsall moves away.
Smith uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Hempsall.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hempsall looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Smith throws a right and a left that both miss.

Smith looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Hempsall!

Both fighters take a look at the clock.
Smith working the ground and pound.
Hempsall takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Hempsall is pushing Smith's head away, looking to escape. Smith manages to hold on to the position though.
Smith in side control, throwing shots but Hempsall defends.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smith connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Hempsall some visible discomfort.
Smith lands an elbow.
Smith scoring with punches from side control.
Hempsall wants to control but Smith postures up.
Hempsall tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Smith working the head and body with strikes.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hempsall taking punishment in the form of punches.
Hempsall tries to bench press Smith off him but Smith keeps the position.
Hempsall takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Smith working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Smith creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Hempsall is rocked!
The crowd goes nuts as Smith knocks Hempsall out cold with a massive hammerfist! Smith Jumps to his feet and climbs on top of the cage to celebrate with the crowd!

A determined Ian Smith didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
