Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Julian Reis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maksim Peggy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peggy has chosen Killing in the name of... as his entrance music. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Julian Reis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Maksim Peggy!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Nard Betker and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Reis feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Reis missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Reis sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Peggy's guard.

Reis seems to be working for a kimura but Peggy defends the submission attempt.
Peggy tries to roll over but Reis keeps him under control.
Peggy avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Reis.
Peggy is not content to let Reis control the position.
Peggy moves into full guard.

Peggy looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Peggy preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Reis throwing strikes but missing.
Peggy wants to sweep here but Reis controlling him for the moment.
Reis connects with a couple of short punches.
Reis throws an elbow that misses. Peggy uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Reis's guard. Nice move by Peggy!

Peggy trying to control the position from guard on top but Reis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Peggy advances position into side control!

Reis sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Peggy has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Reis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Peggy fails to move to back control.

Peggy looking to secure an arm triangle but Reis defends it well.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Peggy looking to control but Reis is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Reis is desperately trying to improve his position but Peggy has a good base and remains in mount.

Peggy is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Reis has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Reis tries to lock up and control but Peggy gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Peggy looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Reis tries to hold on but Peggy postures up.
Peggy wants to control the pace but Reis is squirming around nicely.
Reis stops Peggy from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
Peggy works his way to his opponent's back.
Reis just trying to survive but Peggy is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Peggy's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Reis is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Peggy goes for a risky armbar from back mount and it's not paid off. Reis escapes and is now in half guard on top.

Peggy tries to get to full guard but Reis has control of the leg.
Peggy is not content to let Reis control the position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Reis winds up and cracks Peggy with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Maksim Peggy will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Peggy shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Reis defends it nicely.

Reis closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Peggy wants to control but Reis is keeping busy.
Julian Reis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Reis is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Peggy doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Reis.
Peggy felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Reis throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Reis moves into full mount! Peggy won't be happy about that!
Reis postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Peggy looks a forlorn figure.

Reis throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Peggy bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Peggy must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Peggy wants to pass the guard but Reis is keeping the position.

Reis is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Peggy is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Reis is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Peggy is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Peggy prevents Reis from improving his position.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Peggy wants to pass to mount but Reis is defending the position.
Peggy stalling away here and it's allowed Reis to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Peggy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Reis swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Reis seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Reis is really struggling to control Peggy but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Donk. Peggy catches Reis right on the button with a cross.
Reis avoids the body shot from Peggy.

Reis shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Peggy is trying to defend but Reis finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Peggy had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Reis defends it easily.

Reis tries to free his leg and advance position but Peggy is retaining full guard.
Peggy is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Reis has gone for a leg lock! Peggy slips out almost immediately though and dives into Reis's guard.
Peggy pushes down on Reis's leg and manages to get into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Julian Reis will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Peggy wants to free his trapped foot but Reis is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Reis has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Peggy is working away from the top position though.

Reis flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Reis is looking for a sweep. Peggy is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Peggy throws a body shot but no joy.
Peggy scores with a jab to the head.

Reis darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Peggy is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Peggy blocking the ground and pound attempt from Reis.
Peggy is trying to control but can't.
Reis prevents Peggy from improving his position.

Reis throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Reis thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Reis is nestled in close to Peggy, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Peggy wants to get back to full guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Reis wants to pass to mount but Peggy is defending the position.
Reis with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Reis is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Peggy has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Reis is working away from the top position though.
Peggy tries to get to full guard but Reis has control of the leg.

Peggy keeps trying to improve his position.

Reis is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Peggy has managed to free his arm - good work.
Reis not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Peggy wants to control but Reis is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Peggy gets back to full guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Julian Reis.
I think Reis has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
