PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jackson Savage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eli Bracha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Savage comes into the arena with Bon Jovi - It's my life blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 33 - 29 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jackson Savage!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Eli Bracha!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paul Aken and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Savage drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Savage preventing the sweep.
Bracha keeping full guard, as Savage tries to pass.
Savage is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Savage working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Bracha wants to sweep here but Savage controlling him for the moment.
Bracha told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Bracha seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bracha won't allow Savage to sweep him here.
Bracha is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Bracha's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Savage shoots in but no luck this time.
Savage throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bracha's waist but Bracha gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Savage off to one side.

Savage fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bracha avoids it really well and circles away.

Bracha throws an overhand right that lands on Savage's shoulder, as Savage tries to avoid the shot.
Savage tries a head kick but it misses.
Bracha throws a sloppy head kick and Savage moves out of range easily.
Savage doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Bracha counters with a thumping low kick.

Savage shoots in for a double leg but Bracha sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Bracha shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Savage chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Bracha can pounce on him.

Bracha wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Savage controls Bracha momentarily but Bracha frees himself.

Savage has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bracha can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Bracha is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Bracha has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Bracha throws the kick towards the body but Savage avoids it.
Savage dives in and grabs Bracha's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bracha pushes down on Savage's head and hops out.

Eli Bracha showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Savage is defended easily by Bracha.
Bracha throws a leg kick which misses Savage's front leg but catches the back leg as Savage tries to avoid it.

Bracha scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Bracha throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Savage tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Bracha defends well and Savage ends up having to push Bracha into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Bracha is fighting off a takedown attempt but Savage is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Bracha to the mat. Bracha regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Bracha fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Savage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bracha dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Savage. That did some damage!

Bracha is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Savage postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bracha is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Savage, into his guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Savage has his foot on Bracha's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bracha works his way back into a safe position though.

Savage escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bracha gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Eli Bracha comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Bracha winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
