Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whitehead stuffs the takedown attempt from Portman. Portman gets slowly back to his feet.
Whitehead slaps away a takedown attempt from Portman, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Portman stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Portman wants it to stay on the feet.
Portman fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Whitehead avoids it really well and circles away.
Herschel Whitehead has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wally Portman.
Portman misses with a jab, cross combination.
Portman closes the distance and clinches up with Whitehead, looking for a takedown. Portman pushes Whitehead against the cage but Whitehead circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Whitehead.
Portman gets caught napping as Whitehead dives in and scores a takedown. Portman manages to retain guard.
Portman wants to sweep but no luck.

Portman is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Whitehead is aware though and is defending well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Whitehead has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Whitehead is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Portman has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Whitehead is looking to defend but Portman has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Whitehead! Portman pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Whitehead taps out and this one is all over!
