The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Atkinson on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Atkinson drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

It looks like Russ Atkinson has been cut.
Volund connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Atkinson shoots in and drives through. Volund sprawls well.

Atkinson moves into range and clinches up with Volund.

The referee calls for Volund to work.

Volund has hold of one of Atkinson's legs. Atkinson is fighting the takedown attempt but Volund gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Atkinson looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Volund closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Atkinson's guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Atkinson working for a triangle but Volund defends it easily.
Volund loads up on a big left hand. Atkinson felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Volund looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Atkinson can't hide his disappointment, as Volund celebrates the victory.
