PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Paul Potopitch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Campos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Campos comes into a darkened arena with his song building. I'm The Man - Aloe Blacc kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slapping leg kick lands for Potopitch.
Campos rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Potopitch moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Campos misses with the combination.
Potopitch lands a front kick.
Campos throws a low kick but Potopitch moves out of range easily.
A head kick misses from Campos.
Potopitch shoots in for a double leg but Campos sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Potopitch tries to close the distance and clinch but Campos swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Some bone on bone action there as Potopitch checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Campos lands with an overhand left.

It looks like Paul Potopitch has been cut.

Potopitch dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Campos. That did some damage!

Potopitch throws a right and a left that Campos avoids nicely.
Ivan Campos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Campos lunges at Potopitch with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Potopitch's hand.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Campos looks to land a combination. Potopitch sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Potopitch tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Potopitch tries to clinch up but Campos circles away and keeps his distance.
Campos keeps the fight on the outside.
Campos catches Potopitch with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Potopitch throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Campos's waist but Campos gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Potopitch off to one side.
Campos throws a series of punches but Potopitch avoids them all with ease.
Potopitch fails with an attempt to clinch.
Potopitch tries to close the distance and clinch up but Campos swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Nice takedown defense from Campos. No joy for Potopitch on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paul Potopitch. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Paul Potopitch's cut is getting worse.
Potopitch tries to score a power double leg takedown but Campos sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Potopitch somewhat.
Potopitch is breathing heavily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Campos misses with a series of wild punches.

Campos steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Potopitch is out on his feet! Campos sets himself and nearly takes Potopitch's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!

Ivan Campos spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
