Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tim Avara!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dan Pfaff!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Santiago Holmes and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pfaff shoots in but no luck this time.
Pfaff tries to clinch up but Avara circles away and keeps his distance.
Pfaff misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Pfaff fails with the takedown.
Tim Avara has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dan Pfaff.
Pfaff throws a leg kick but Avara sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Pfaff doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Avara moves into the clinch.
Avara tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Pfaff just stands there and leans against the cage.

Pfaff gets control of Avara's arms and successfully pulls guard. Pfaff will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Avara trying to control the position from guard on top but Pfaff is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Avara tries to free his leg and advance position but Pfaff is retaining full guard.

Pfaff looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Avara wants to pass the guard but Pfaff is keeping the position.
Avara passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Pfaff really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Avara. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Avara wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pfaff keeps working.
Avara has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Pfaff!

Avara looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Avara pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.

Avara goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Pfaff turns into him and now he's in Avara's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pfaff postures up.

Avara pushes a forearm under Pfaff's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Pfaff is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
