The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Maia swings for the body but Teeto moves out of range.

and Teeto counters with a body kick that stops Maia in his tracks momentarily.
Kyro Maia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Maia shoots in looking for a takedown but Teeto manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Maia's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Maia gets a takedown into half guard.
Maia is trying to control the action in half guard but Teeto is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
