Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Amun Ra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Glen Starner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Amun Ra!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Glen Starner!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Daniel Blasius and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ra uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Starner.
Starner throws a big shot that misses.

Starner looking to score a takedown here. Ra is defending well but Starner drives through and ends up in Ra's guard.
Ra being controlled here, momentarily.
Ra looking to control.
Starner trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Starner works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Ra is concentrating on defense, preventing Starner from advancing position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Starner trying to control the action but Ra is working from the bottom.
Starner wants to pass to mount but Ra is defending the position.
Ra is looking to improve his position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Starner works his way into side control.
Starner tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Starner postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Ra is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Wax on Wax off 'Dojo, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
Ra parries the strikes from Starner easily there. Starner is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Ra to escape.
Ra manages to get back to half guard.
Starner prevents Ra from improving his position.
Starner looks to land a strike but Ra avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Starner throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Starner scoring with some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Starner throwing strikes but missing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ra pulls Starner in close to prevent any damage.
Starner throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ra works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Ra wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Starner wants to control from the top but Ra keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Starner misses with a right hand

so Ra counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Ra is in close to Starner's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Ra loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Ra with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Starner keeping moving, preventing Ra from controlling successfully.
Ra trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Ra postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Ra missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Ra lands a couple of elbows.
Ra passes into half guard.
Ra sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Starner defending well though.
Starner felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Starner is pressing down on Ra's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Starner wants to improve his position but instead Ra has moved into half guard.
Ra sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Starner defending well though.
Starner has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ra is working away from the top position though.
Starner regains full guard. Nicely done.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Starner is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Ra scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Ra is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Ra trying to control but Starner is working from the bottom.
Starner looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Ra chips away with some ground and pound.
Starner preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Starner looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Starner working a defensive guard here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ra loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Amun Ra will probably get the nod.
That's time! Ra's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Starner drops his hands momentarily and Ra takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Starner avoids the body shot from Ra.
Ra tries to clinch up
and Starner counters with a three punch combo that has Ra backing up. Ra nods at Starner to acknowledge the strikes.
A jab from Starner misses.
Starner feints with a jab and clips Ra right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Ra is sent crashing into the canvas and Starner leaps in for the kill! Ra tries to get to his feet but Starner is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Ra is in need of a savior and steps in!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Glen Starner!
Glen Starner is the new lightweight champion!
A very excited looking Glen Starner made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
