The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nyrkki swings for the body but Johnson moves out of range.

Nyrkki rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Johnson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Nyrkki looks to land a combination. Johnson sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Nyrkki throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Nyrkki swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Johnson has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Johnson pushes Nyrkki off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Johnson wants to clinch up but Nyrkki keeps it at a distance.
Johnson ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Johnson is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Nyrkki.
Nyrkki sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

The fight stays on the outside here - Johnson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Nyrkki, as that shot connected.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Johnson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
