Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jan Sobieski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Iron Igor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jan Sobieski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Iron Igor!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, John Roberts and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Igor on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Igor shoots in looking for a takedown but Sobieski manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Igor's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Igor dives in and scores a takedown into Sobieski's guard.
Sobieski on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Sobieski tries to get out of the position.
Igor tries to free his leg and advance position but Sobieski is retaining full guard.
Igor wants to control from the top but Sobieski keeps moving.
Sobieski pulls Igor in to control the position.

Iron Igor has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Igor misses with a hook. Sobieski ducked under it nicely.
Igor misses with an uppercut.
Igor will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Sobieski lands a nice shot that snaps Igor's head back.
Igor throws a looping overhand right but Sobieski ducks down to avoid it.
Sobieski misses with a series of wild punches.
Sobieski looks to land a combination but Igor avoids it well.
Igor lands a leg kick that knocks Sobieski off balance momentarily.
A jab lands there for Sobieski.
Sobieski stalks Igor and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Igor's face. Igor staggers backwards, shaken.
Sobieski misses with a few strikes there.
Igor misses with a hook.
Sobieski connects with a jab.
Igor throws a jab but it's blocked by Sobieski.
Igor is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Sobieski.
Sobieski throws an overhand right that lands on Igor's shoulder, as Igor tries to avoid the shot.
Igor throws a jab when Sobieski was well out of range.
Igor throws a hook but Sobieski blocks it.
A chopping leg kick lands by Igor.
Sobieski blocks a jab.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
No joy there for Sobieski, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Igor throws a lazy right hand but Sobieski sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Igor looks to score with a jab to the body but Sobieski is just out of range.
Iron Igor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Igor closes the distance and clinches.
Igor tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Igor is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Sobieski is keeping busy.
Igor is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Sobieski is defending well.
Igor has a couple of punches blocked by Sobieski.
A hook to the body from Sobieski.
Sobieski prevents a body shot from Igor.
Igor goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Igor doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Sobieski is pressed up against the cage. Igor has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sobieski down to the mat. Sobieski avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Jan Sobieski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Iron Igor.
Nice straight punches there by Sobieski. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Sobieski.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sobieski throws a jab but it's blocked by Igor.
Igor lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Igor shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sobieski sprawls well. Sobieski wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Igor gets slowly back to his feet.
Igor tries to clinch but Sobieski moves out of range.
Sobieski misses with a series of wild punches.
Good exchange - Sobieski coming out on top.

Igor looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Sobieski!
Igor works to advance to full mount. Sobieski defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Sobieski knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Igor on the ground.
Igor looking to control and managing it successfully.

Igor is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Sobieski is surviving well by controlling Igor's body position as best he can.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Igor is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Sobieski is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Sobieski flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Igor anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Sobieski and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Igor slips an arm under Sobieski chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Igor has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Igor is squeezing on Sobieski like an anaconda would it's prey. Sobieski fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Iron Igor!
A relieved looking Iron Igor thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
