Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pete Tippin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

With a record of 21 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Pete Tippin!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Hugh Johnson and Darius Henderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tippin throws a hook but Rodrigo Nogueira blocks it.
We've been hearing reports that Rodrigo Nogueira has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Tippin throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Rodrigo Nogueira was covering up waiting for the punch and Tippin finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Rodrigo Nogueira is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Tippin can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Tippin felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Tippin wants to hold on but Rodrigo Nogueira pushes him away.

Rodrigo Nogueira postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Tippin in real trouble here! The ref calls for Tippin to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
