Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Terry Mcdermott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Mewes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mcdermott's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Broken Wings. Jason Mewes will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jason Mewes!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Ryoma Takatsuka and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mewes changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mcdermott tries to avoid it but Mewes manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mcdermott to the ground. Mcdermott escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Mewes is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Mcdermott's half guard.
Mewes is keen to just control but Mcdermott is a slippery customer.
Mcdermott is looking to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mewes wants to work for an arm triangle but Mcdermott is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Mcdermott might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mewes is working for a kimura but Mcdermott is defending it quite comfortably.
Mcdermott is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Mcdermott has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mewes is working away from the top position though.
The fighters are battling for position here. Mcdermott manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Mewes wants to control from the top but Mcdermott keeps moving.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Mcdermott avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Mcdermott working for a triangle but Mewes defends it easily.
Mcdermott wants to sweep but no luck.

Mcdermott working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mewes doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mewes manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mewes accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Mcdermott closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Mewes did well to prevent Mcdermott getting side control.
Mewes has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

Mcdermott is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mewes defends it well.

Mewes is trying to stand up here but Mcdermott is controlling him well.
Mewes is looking for a sweep. Mcdermott is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Mcdermott maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Mewes could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Mcdermott has cracked it and Mewes is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Mcdermott!

Our winner, Terry Mcdermott, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
