Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bennet Benoit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and The Shadow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shadow has chosen Scandal / Shunkan Sentimental as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Roger Salmon and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benoit throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Shadow fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Benoit.
Benoit throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
enabling Shadow to counter with a crisp jab.
Benoit has been working on his balance at , so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Shadow.
Benoit tries for a takedown but Shadow sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Benoit lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Shadow circles away quickly and effectively.
Benoit throws a series of punches but Shadow avoids them all with ease.
Benoit closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Shadow's guard.
Benoit has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Shadow wants to get back to his feet but Benoit is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Shadow can do anything to dispel that myth.

and Shadow counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Benoit is defended easily by Shadow.
Benoit tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Shadow defends well and Benoit ends up having to push Shadow into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Benoit is trying to push Shadow away but Shadow has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Shadow felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Benoit misses with a hook. Shadow ducked under it nicely.
Benoit shoots in but Shadow avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Shadow lands a really nice looking cross but Benoit seems unphased.

The Shadow comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Shadow winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
