Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hai Shang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Raven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Thomas Raven!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Eddie Farnsworth and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shang throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Shang takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Raven throws a leg kick which misses Shang's front leg but catches the back leg as Shang tries to avoid it.
Shang misses with a looping left.
Raven throws a leg kick but Shang checks it.
Shang looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Raven looks for a takedown but Shang sprawls well.
Raven is looking to score with low kicks.
Raven swings away with a leg kick that misses.

Shang fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Raven manages to avoid it.
Shang misses with a hook. Raven ducked under it nicely.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Shang shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Raven has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Shang moves away from the strike by Raven.
Raven stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Raven wants it to stay on the feet.

Shang throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Raven.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Raven lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Shang has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Shang and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Shang tries to close the distance and clinch up but Raven swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Shang walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Raven crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Shang - the referee stops the clock and Raven gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Shang. Raven manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Good leg kick by Shang there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Shang feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Shang stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Raven swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Raven is looking for a sweep. Shang is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Shang is stalling here. Raven is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Shang seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Raven has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Raven passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Shang!
Shang slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Shang has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Raven. Oh but Shang has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Raven goes limp - he's gone! Shang jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
