PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yo Adrian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Toni Eerkilaa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Adrian comes to the cage accompanied by Super Bon Bon - Soul Coughing. Toni Eerkilaa told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Yo Adrian!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Toni Eerkilaa!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eerkilaa fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Adrian on the side of the head.
Adrian punishes Eerkilaa's body with a nice straight punch.
Adrian tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Eerkilaa paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Adrian lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Eerkilaa throws a good cross that connects.

Adrian throws a left that rocks Eerkilaa and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Adrian dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Eerkilaa regain composure!

It looks like Toni Eerkilaa has been cut.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Adrian working away.
Adrian wants to stand but Eerkilaa has his arm trapped.
Adrian wants to lay and pray for a moment but Eerkilaa keeps working.
Adrian wants to stand but Eerkilaa is controlling his arm.
Adrian fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Eerkilaa manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Adrian in particular looking to stall.

Eerkilaa keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Eerkilaa's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Eerkilaa pushes Adrian off looking to stand but Adrian dives back in and keeps control.
Adrian tries to stand but can't do so whilst Eerkilaa controls his leg.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Adrian misses with a head kick.
A punch combination from Adrian misses.
Eerkilaa slips under a jab.
Adrian swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Eerkilaa counters with a nice uppercut.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Eerkilaa throws a looping overhand right but Adrian ducks down to avoid it.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Eerkilaa crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Adrian - the referee stops the clock and Eerkilaa gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Adrian. Eerkilaa manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Adrian tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Eerkilaa was well out of range. Poor timing from Adrian.
Eerkilaa has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Adrian throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Adrian scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Adrian lands a right hook to the body.
Adrian throws a nice inside leg kick.
Adrian goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Adrian lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Eerkilaa circles away quickly and effectively.
The fighters circling - Adrian throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Eerkilaa swats away the attempt to clinch by Adrian.
Adrian throws a nice inside leg kick.

Adrian misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Adrian fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Eerkilaa looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Eerkilaa throws a right hand that misses
and Adrian counters with a left and a right that stings Eerkilaa.
Adrian scores with a crisp jab that stopped Eerkilaa in his tracks.
Yo Adrian seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Adrian waves his right hand out in front of him, looking to distract Eerkilaa. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Eerkilaa to the canvas! Can he finish him!?

Eerkilaa is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Adrian postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Eerkilaa covers up, he's hurt! Adrian keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Adrian and the ref steps in to end the fight! Adrian can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Yo Adrian!
Post fight, Yo Adrian stared into the camera and said 'Thanks to the fans and thanks to my manager. He is the greatest ever!'.
