The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Macintosh moves out of range of the strikes.
A head kick misses from Pope.
Pope throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Macintosh shoots in but no luck this time.
Macintosh feints and as Pope raises his hands in defense, Macintosh changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pope keeping moving, preventing Macintosh from controlling successfully.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Pope lands with a slapping head kick.
It looks like Bud Macintosh has been cut.
Pope bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Macintosh's head.
Nice takedown defense from Pope. No joy for Macintosh on that attempt.
Macintosh walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Macintosh shoots in and drives through. Pope sprawls well.

Pope lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Macintosh looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Pope fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Macintosh on the side of the head.
Macintosh shoots in looking for a takedown but Pope manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Macintosh's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Pope throws an overhand right that lands on Macintosh's shoulder, as Macintosh tries to avoid the shot.
Macintosh on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Macintosh takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Pope goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Pope tests Macintosh's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Macintosh takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

A big right from Pope misses.
Pope stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Pope lands a glancing blow to the side of Macintosh's head.
Macintosh shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pope pinned against the cage. Pope gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Pope keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Pope Rushes Macintosh and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Macintosh is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Pope Piles on the pressure and Macintosh crumples to the floor! This one is all over!

After the fight, Michael Pope was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
