Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ollie Robbins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sammi Ropanen!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Johanna Lukiainen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ropanen gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Ropanen goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Ropanen tries for a takedown but Robbins circles away easily

and Robbins counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Robbins.

Ropanen drags the fight down to the ground.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Ropanen has an active guard here but Robbins has managed to pass into half guard.
Ropanen wants to control but Robbins passes into side.

Robbins is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ropanen knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Ropanen tries to improve position but can't.

Robbins stands up and beckons Ropanen to his feet.

Robbins is trying to pull guard but Ropanen has him pressed against the cage.

Robbins is trying to break the clinch but Ropanen is controlling him.
Ropanen tries to pull guard but Robbins holds him up against the cage and eventually Ropanen drops back down to his feet.

Ropanen drags the fight down to the ground.
Robbins postures up in Ropanen's guard and throws a big left but Ropanen blocks it.

Ropanen is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Robbins postures up and lands a big shot to Ropanen's brow.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Robbins lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Robbins throwing strikes but missing.
Robbins scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Robbins avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Robbins works over Ropanen with some ground and pound from guard.
Robbins with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Ropanen wants to hit a switch here but Robbins passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Ropanen there!

Robbins is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Ropanen is surviving well by controlling Robbins's body position as best he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ropanen tries to hold on but Robbins postures up.

Ropanen is working to get back to half guard.
Robbins wants to control the pace but Ropanen is squirming around nicely.
Ropanen is in all sorts of trouble here.
Ropanen sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Robbins is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Ropanen has managed to free his arm - good work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Robbins lands strikes from half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ollie Robbins dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Robbins tries to keep at a distance but Ropanen has taken the fight into the clinch.
Ropanen tries to pull guard but Robbins forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Ropanen putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Robbins in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.

Robbins breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Ropanen instigates a clinch.
Ropanen tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Robbins just stands there and leans against the cage.
Robbins has had enough of the clinch but Ropanen keeps him there for the moment.

Ropanen fails to pull guard.

Still in half guard, Ropanen seems content to control.

Robbins is trying to stand back up but Ropanen is controlling him
Robbins has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Ropanen is stalling here. Robbins is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Ropanen seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Robbins has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Robbins has hold of Ropanen's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Ropanen seems comfortable defending it but Robbins has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Ropanen is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Ropanen is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Robbins couldn't care less - he's delighted!
