Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cian McGarrity (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Reggie Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McGarrity's entrance music is Irish Fighting Song - We Come in Pieces. A fine choice. Anderson has chosen The Champ is Here as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Cian McGarrity!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 6 - 2, fighting out of New York, Reggie Anderson!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Yves DeLean and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson blocks a head kick by McGarrity.

McGarrity is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. McGarrity gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. McGarrity gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. McGarrity apologises and we restart here on the feet.

That was a close round but I would say that Cian McGarrity will probably get the nod.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Anderson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks McGarrity with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Anderson lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and McGarrity has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from McGarrity and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
