The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grimes lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Sabonis at a distance.
Sabonis fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Sabonis throws a chopping leg kick but Grimes manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
We've been informed that Grimes has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Sabonis fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Grimes will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Sabonis.

Grimes lands a really nice looking cross but Sabonis seems unphased.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
